About Me

For the last several years, I have called myself an Independent Marketing Consultant, this has included being a Booker & a Promoter for independent and original musicians and performing artists.

I am passionate about things that are aesthetic. My Mission is to create a platform for others to have a voice; and to empower others to be visible with their voice. I want to take my skills into the world of Podcasts and Blogging.

In 2012, after making a massive career change by leaving the company I had worked at for around 25 years, I started using my promotion, marketing and PR skills to create Facebook pages for local businesses. In that former company, I held roles like consultant, sales consultant, marketing officer, marketing & promotional campaigns manager, management consultant/trouble-shooter. The company used an on site training facitity and I learnt these roles with on the job training.

After talking with a Business Coach, in 2013, I saw the need to narrow down on my niche rather than shotgun my marketing efforts. I redirected my energy to work in the arenas that light my fire – music and creative writing.

In 2013 I started to work in the music industry. Firstly as a part of Bucket Lounge – quintessential performance spaces in various venues across Sydney, mainly the Inner West, to showcase up & coming independent original artists, as well as the not so up and coming independent artists. I started as the Publicist and moved into the role of Creative Director, running all aspects of these nights for nearly 6 years. From this, another well was sprung – performers contacted me to help them with my skills in PR, promotion and events. This is what led me to becoming a Booker/Promoter and Publicist for independent and original performing artists.

Duruing 2014 – 2016, I was the Social Media Manager for Jam Gallery and Spring Street Social; as well as the Publicist for the Basement Blues Society for two years. I have been the publicist for The Original Sound lounge since Jan 2019 (though a short break early 2020).

Since 2019, I have been focusing on becoming a Writer. I studied Radio & Media – Journalism at TAFE (Technical and Further Education). Along came Covid19 in 2020, and it shattered the entertainment industry, which forced me to bring my Writing skills to the forefront. In 2020, I had two reviews published in two music publications. There have been several more articles published in 2021.
