Learning, an ongoing process.

Never before had I created a video. In fact, it scared me. You know, its fascinating that humans tend to pull away from things they don’t think they can do. In my TAFE classes, I have come face to face with fears, fears brought on by my ownself if truth be told. Over these past months, I have been learning to do things I didn’t think I could do.

A simple assignment in my editing class did my head in, stressed me out and shot my blood pressure to new heights. But, I wasn’t going to let this destroy my peace of mind. Rather than beat my head against a brick wall, I sought a way to achieve the end result.

InShot became my saviour. Its an app. It means its on my phone. Which is where my photos are.

I found the adobe premiere program a difficult learning curve for some-one new to this world – I was able to use adobe audition, but not the premiere program. Rather than take a loss over this, I found a way to do the project.

The app I chose to use was InShot. To use this was logical, for the majority of my work is done from my mobile phone; therefore I need something I can use on my phone. InShot allows me to do this. Adobe programs are only available for use in the classroom. I need what is going to enable me to do the job. I can’t take the server from TAFE home with me, but I can take my phone wherever I go.

A simple video created by me using photos I took on my phone – a first ever for me.

My end product is still not perfect, but I am not going to bash my head in over it. The gains though are insurmountable. Pride increased for I developed a way to do something new. It’s not perfect, it’s not one hundred percent professional. The one major plus is that I am eager to learn. Learning is still underway; the process is ongoing. Plenty of mistakes were made, but I got there. I have learnt that I must be alert at all times so I cut and trim at the right places. The more I use this app, the better I will become. Part of the process is to break rigidity in learning, broaden my mind to see things in new lights. This will lead to better content.
